Bacolod City( means of transportation and Routes)

I think, there are only few bloggers here in the Philippines that is giving route for the Bacolod City public transportation. I really appreciate those bloggers that are giving information on how to take public transportation in Manila.

As of the moment, I will give you guys information for all the travelers bound to Bacolod City, either through air or by the sea .

Via the atmosphere:

Most travelers that will choose to have an aircraft as their means of transportation going to Bacolod City.
Most visitors will have their departure in the New Bacolod-Silay airport which is located in Silay City and I could say that it is pretty far especially if you do not have any one to fetch you in the airport.

For those who will be commuting, you have 3 options to choose.

First, will be taking a van that will cost 150 per person and there will be drivers that will be calling you out upon stepping out in the departure door. This van will be bound to the city itself, it could be either in SM City which is in the reclamation area and in the heart of the city or somewhere  in their pit stop.

Second, by taking a cab, this will be a little costly for a visitor, however, when we talk all about the most convenient way, then it could be your best option. The taxi will mostly charge you 500 pesos from 1-4 passengers and they will end where you will be staying for the day or weeks or month (hotel, pension houses, apartments, malls and others).

Third, can be by having a motored biked or tricycle, mostly the commuters will be charged for 30 pesos per pax and this will not be a convenient way.

By the sea:

There are two seaports in Bacolod City, the old port which is owned by Negros Navigation and most of their passengers will be departing and arrived in that port.

NN (Negros Navigation), i think they have buses for their passengers and a little walk from the port, you will see tricycles and jeepneys. I think there is only one jeepney that passing through that area and it will be Banago-Libertad route and the fare will be only 7.50 pesos per person as of the moment and it will be passing most of the major areas in the cities.

Tricycle and trisikad will be available in that area, but make sure to ask for the fare first.

Superferry, their port is much easier, since it is located in the reclamation area and near the SM City. You will be taking either a cab, trisikad and tricycle. Mostly you will be charged of 30 pesos from the port to SM City but you can pay 10 pesos, just ask nicely.

Going around the city:

Do not be scare in roaming around the city, you will find it easier to enjoy the beauty of Gaea and of course the arts of human being. If you are from the city proper, to make it simple from one mall to another:

SM City-Robinson's Place Bacolod:

Take public jeepneys with a route:

Bata-Libertad
Mandalagan-Libertad

Fare cost will be 7.50 pesos and please be aware that jeepneys from SM City will be passing to Libertad Market and back to the parallel part of SM City.

However, if you would like to take a shorter trip, you can have a walk from SM City, passing the Cathedral (San Sebastian), then cross the street across the public plaza and you will see Mandalagan-Libertad and Bata-Libertad in that area.

It will be the same jeepneys from Robinson's place to SM City, but make sure that you will ask the jeepney drivers if they will stop in SM City.

From SM City-Gaisano City Mall:

All you have too do is, step out of SM City and go to the jeepney loading and unloading area in either North or South Wing main door. Look for this jeepneys that has a sign of:

Airport-Cent. Market
Sum-ag-Cent. Market
Tangub-Central Market

The fare will be 7.50 per head, if you are going back to the city proper, just take the same route and you do not have to worry since, if you are a local tourist, everyone can understand tagalog and if you are foreigner, a slow English conversation will give you a correct directions.

For faster route take a cab and taxi's in Bacolod City is way different from that in Manila City. I can say that most of the cab drivers in the city are honest enough.

Enjoy your tour and have a wonderful stay.
