Free Philippine Registered Nurses from an abusive Philippine Health System! We envy Philippine Medical Assoc., nurses knows why!
Every Filipino thought that after passing the Nurse Licensure Examination in the Philippines, their (our) dreams will come true. However, it is a big hoax, because that will be the beginning of the long suffering cavalry for the registered nurses in the Philippines.
Worst of all, private hospitals or institutions are still busy collecting fees for those who would like to work or practice as a nurse. There was once an issue, regarding this matter and MOST private hospitals ceased hiring nurses, since they could not collect any fees from US. Another sad stories, was that the Philippine Nurses Association, who supposedly, will protect all their members, were the one that renounced US, and instead stated that most private hospital were collecting fees for seminars and others.
The issue was out in the air, then there it was again, the private hospitals went back from collecting fees from those nurses who would like to practice as a nurse int eh Philippines. This time, they do not call it us service fees, but, donations and whatever fees they want to call it.
Too bad the current president of the Philippines and those previous presidents, FAILED to focus on the health care system, instead, they focused more on collecting grudges from the previous administration, making proud of the Wangwang, which is really annoying.
When will the Philippine Health care system upgrade, when will be nurses heard, when will be the rights of the nurses exist, when will our Association stands not against our concerns, when will we be honored.
We work as a nurse, but it does not mean, we will serve the community for free, if Politicians are public servants like us, why are they earning thousands of so-called honorarium while us, we receive nothing, no free medical services as well. Volunteer registered nurses, is the worst position we ever hold, a dreadful days, months and years of our life.
I thought there will be changes, but NO, there is no any changes at all. Thanks to Sen. Pia Cayetano who fought for our rights and been our hero, however, the house failed to pass a bill to protect us, the Nurses Act is nothing but a piece of principles bound to be collected in the Philippine archive.
We are so sad!
