A majority of women and men in China want to marry men or women who inherit a large amount of wealth from their parents or grandparents, a study has said.
Around 60 per cent of college girls/boys want to marry men/women born into rich families who stand to inherit large amounts of assets from their parents, China Daily reported Monday.
A survey carried out by the Women's Federation of Guangzhou in Guangdong province found that 59.2 per cent women prefer to marry men born in the 1980s and 57.6 per cent choose men with great potential as their life partner.
"Many college girls are more than willing to pursue a comfortable life by a less personal struggle," Liu Shuqian, a professor at Guangzhou University was quoted as saying.
Responding to another question regarding their partner's unfaithfulness, 20 per cent of women said they can tolerate occasional infidelity by their partners.
Meanwhile, only 10 per cent women said they will be loyal to one person in a lifetime.
The survey interviewed 992 respondents between January to March 2010 and aimed to look into the values of college girls on issues like interpersonal relationships.
In the Philippines, most Chinese are either half or has full blood Chinese that learned how to speak the language of the local. Although they are born and raised in the country, they do still practice what most Chinese people were practising in their tradition and culture.
It is very obvious in Chinese community in the Philippines that most half-chinese were married to pure chinese or half-chinese too because of cultural understanding and as well as their personal beliefs, least that you will know that a man wanted to marry a chinese woman because the man wanted to save the property of his parents or does not wanted to be bankrupt.

In our family, only two of my uncle married to a Filipino Chinese, and the rest including my father married either pure Filipinos or Spanish-Filipino like my mom. My mum admitted that there were some problems that took place with the sister of my dad, but it was controlled since my dad was the one handling their business before and most of his sisters were depending on him.
Although, in our generation we are not force to have relationship with pure Chinese or half-Chinese people, there is always an attraction between the two, because of the beliefs and practices that prevents contradictions in a relationship. My twin brother is having a communal relationship with a half-Chinese girl too, but my other sibling were not. Personally, i am enjoying having conversation with half-Chinese people and we can easily connect the dots in a vague term.
